Target Audience: Administrators, Teachers
Responsibilities: eLearning Development, Scriptwriting
Tools Used: Adobe Illustrator, Screencastify, Final Cut Pro
Overview
After adopting the new Learning Management System, Evateach, administrators and teachers required introductory training to become acclimated with the system. This series of short screen-recorded demonstrations allows users to familiarize themselves with the system on their own time.
Process
I began the process of creating the demonstration videos by familiarizing myself with the learning management system, Evateach. Through this exploration, I was able to pull out key takeaways that would be the most helpful for new users. I then grouped the information into four learning objectives surrounding site navigation, course creation, onboarding students, and adding content to a course.
After grouping the learning, I created an outline for each video demonstration. I used the outline as a guide while I screen-recorded the steps for each video, utilizing the tool Screencastify. I imported the videos into Final Cut Pro and began the editing process. I created a script to fit with the screen recordings and narrated the first video for feedback. Following approval from stakeholders, I continued this process for the rest of the demonstrations.
